The newly developed two premium-grade volume pre-amps are designed to replace outdated remote-controlled motor volume potentiometers. Both of these solutions are flagship-level, and are used in high-end devices such as PassXP30 from abroad, AVM PA8 from Germany, Goldmund 27.3, and SONCOZ QXA1.
Additionally, there are several other advantages!
1. Accuracy: As flagship-level volume chips, the PGA2310 and MUSES72320 exhibit a left-right channel error of over one ten-thousandth, which is several orders of magnitude lower than the ±20% error of ordinary potentiometers.
2. Lifespan: The lifespan of an ordinary potentiometer may be a few months or years, during which it may experience poor contact or produce a rustling noise. However, digital volume potentiometers do not suffer from these issues and have a very, very low failure rate!
3. Sound quality: The output impedance of the flagship chip is lower than 47 ohms (note that it is output impedance, not input impedance). The output impedance of ordinary potentiometers is above 10K, which inevitably results in less excellent and transparent details compared to top-end audio chips.
4. Functionally, the PGA2310MUS72320 can also be set for pre-amplification. When set to ODB, it functions as a regular potentiometer. When set to a level greater than 0DB, it can be used as a pre-amplifier. The volume control has a memory function.
5. For installation, it is the same as a regular potentiometer. There are 2 lights on the board, one black and one red. The black one is the remote control receiver, and the red one indicates volume and brightness. The display screen is optional and not necessary.
Note: The boards of PGA2310 and MUSES72320 can be used as volume potentiometers or for current level use. When GAIN is set to 0, the gain ODB. Equivalent pure potentiometer. When GAIN is set to greater than 1, it can be used in the current stage with a gain of 3-21DB. There is no need to set it too large, otherwise the signal will become too strong and the stage will saturate. Setting it within 12DB is better.
There are two ways to set GAIN. The first method is to use the remote control gain button. Press 1 to switch 1 gain, and the display screen will show the corresponding display. The LED on the board will also show the corresponding display.
The second method is to not rotate the volume potentiometer. Pressing it directly will switch the gain of GAIN, which is very convenient.
