Do you have too many sensors with the same I2C address? Place them at the Qwiic Mux junction point and let them communicate on the same bus! The Qwiic Mux distribution point supports communication with multiple I2C devices with the same address, simplifying the interface. Qwiic Mux also has 8 configurable addresses, allowing one to connect up to 64 I2C buses. In order to facilitate the use of this multiplexer, all communication is conducted through I2C using our convenient Qwiic system. Qwiic Mux also allows you to change the last three bits of the address byte. If you happen to need to place multiple Qwiic Mux distribution points on the same I2C port, eight jumper wires are allowed to select the address. The address can be changed by adding solder to any of the three ADR jumpers. Each Qwiic Mux distribution point operates between 1.65V and 5.5V, which is very suitable for all Qwiic boards we produce internally. The Qwiic Connect system is an ecosystem consisting of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables, making prototyping faster and less prone to errors. All circuit boards that support Qwiic use a universal 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you won't make the wrong connections.
